Thanks for reaching out! To address the issue, try using windowed or windowed fullscreen mode for streaming. Run both Discord and Steam/Dome Keeper as administrator, and ensure Discord is set to capture the specific game window instead of the entire screen. If windowed fullscreen still shows the taskbar, try hiding it or checking that your monitor scaling settings are consistent. If the problem continues, please share your GPU and monitor setup with us.
Thanks so much for the response! Windowed fullscreen displays as expected now, I just had to restart the game, so at least that issue is fixed.
However I'm still having issues streaming over Discord, even with your suggestions. Two main issues:
- Streaming to Discord and playing the game will run smoothly at first, but after a few minutes the game will begin to lag heavily and eventually crash, which also messes up Discord and I have to close and relaunch the application. I don't have this issue streaming any other game (Astroneer, Hades, and PlateUp! to name a few).
- The stream doesn't update unless I'm in Windowed mode, either Windowed Fullscreen or Fullscreen will cause the stream to appear frozen to viewers. Again, haven't had this issue with any other game.
nVidia GeForce GTX 1080 with dual monitor setup.
Please check the following things:
- Discord is updated and running on the latest version
- Ensure your NVIDIA GTX 1080 drivers are up to date
- In Discord's settings, under "Voice & Video," enable Hardware Acceleration if it's off or turn it off if it's already enabled, as this setting can vary depending on your system.
- Reduce the stream resolution and frame rate in Discord (e.g., 720p at 30fps) to see if it mitigates lag and crashing.
- Enable "reduce particles" and "render half resolution" in the game's options
- Make sure there isn't a background processess or other applications like overlays interfering with the performance of your system
I guess my question now is why? I haven't needed to do that for any other game, and tbh it's a hassle having to turn it off just to stream DK when everything else streams just fine.
I've been looking for someone with the same problem. Turning off hardware acceleration did not work for me. I'll send a bug report to Discord
I have tried the exact same two games and I have the exact same experience.
i also have this issue now been going through everything to try to find a fix, you guys have any luck?
