Most of the game and ui are completely cut off. and not visible on my steam deck.
I figured maybe the launch argument I set here carried over to my steamdeck install, but nope. Argument line is completely empty on my steamdeck.
Like holy hell. Is this game playable at all?
Most people don't really understand what they're doing with dual monitors. You're almost without a doubt using HDMI. The problem is easily fixed.
Newsflash, any time you run HDR, and launch something that is true full screen, windows has to change the color palette. This means a black screen and flickering for several seconds until Windows figures out wth it wants to do.
This is simply the reality of HDR with a multi-monitor setup using Windows.
So until you are also running HDR monitors, maybe you shouldn't opine on how I just don't know what I'm doing.
And FYI, both monitors are running 4k 144hz. This automatically excludes all but the latest HDMI spec, which still hasn't seen significant rollout. Both monitors are on DP.
Outline a few more details so people don't have to play the 20 questions game. We don't know what configuration you've got running or what software is controlling what output modes. For all we know you've got an auto tune AMD app running with an HP helper background task....that would be awesome right??! The parameters are pretty wide!!
Making people speculate endlessly is just terrible to diagnose.
It literally included that I'm running HDR.
It's not my fault that you don't know how ***Windows***(not third party apps, programs, etc) behaves with that.
And besides, you're literally just here derailing my thread.
This thread is about borderless window NOT WORKING.
This thread is NOT about you berating me on why Windows doesn't play nice with HDR - which apparently you're oblivious to.
I asked for more info twice, and I included modes of apologetics as an out for you to engage. You only raged.
Best of luck.
The question is literally:
"HOW DOES ONE MAKE THE GAME RUN 4K IN BORDERLESS"
The end.
That's all the info required.
Literally nothing else.
Stop derailing my topic.
Yeah nobody needs any more info. I can see how this is frustrating for you. Obviously every system is the same, and all potential solutions solve all setups.
"Have you tried turning it off and back on again??"
I have not heard about any such issues on Steam Deck yet. Maybe it has trouble with the borderless window setting, that gets cloud synced to your Deck?
If you tried it, could you tell if it works, or why you think it's unrealistic to run it like that?
