Don't make me have to refund the game
Due to my multi-monitor hdr setup its not realistic to run the game in fullscreen.

I have to run the game in borderless fullscreen. But when I select this, it does NOT fill the screen, instead only making a window of about 1080p.

I went into steam launch arguments and set it for "-w 3840 -h 2160"
Now as soon as I hit play, the game cycles in steam, then immediately the task crashes out. No screen/game ever appears.

I need to be able to run this game at 4k borderless. Period. The game looks cool, but if I can't do that, I have to refund it.

I just tried to play it on my steam deck, and the game only shows the upper left quarter of the screen.

Most of the game and ui are completely cut off. and not visible on my steam deck.
I figured maybe the launch argument I set here carried over to my steamdeck install, but nope. Argument line is completely empty on my steamdeck.

Like holy hell. Is this game playable at all?

I run dual monitors and this game in full screen (not windowed, not windowed borderless) and it works flawlessly.

Most people don't really understand what they're doing with dual monitors. You're almost without a doubt using HDMI. The problem is easily fixed.

Newsflash, any time you run HDR, and launch something that is true full screen, windows has to change the color palette. This means a black screen and flickering for several seconds until Windows figures out wth it wants to do.

This is simply the reality of HDR with a multi-monitor setup using Windows.

So until you are also running HDR monitors, maybe you shouldn't opine on how I just don't know what I'm doing.

And FYI, both monitors are running 4k 144hz. This automatically excludes all but the latest HDMI spec, which still hasn't seen significant rollout. Both monitors are on DP.

I'm sorry man but my statement still stands, most people don't know what they're doing with multi setups. I'm glad you know your basics at least.

Outline a few more details so people don't have to play the 20 questions game. We don't know what configuration you've got running or what software is controlling what output modes. For all we know you've got an auto tune AMD app running with an HP helper background task....that would be awesome right??! The parameters are pretty wide!!

Making people speculate endlessly is just terrible to diagnose.

I included all the information needed in my original post.
It literally included that I'm running HDR.

It's not my fault that you don't know how ***Windows***(not third party apps, programs, etc) behaves with that.

And besides, you're literally just here derailing my thread.

This thread is about borderless window NOT WORKING.

This thread is NOT about you berating me on why Windows doesn't play nice with HDR - which apparently you're oblivious to.

Sorry man, your knowledge is too high...sounds like you're good at refunds though.

I asked for more info twice, and I included modes of apologetics as an out for you to engage. You only raged.

Best of luck.

You don't need any info.

The question is literally:
"HOW DOES ONE MAKE THE GAME RUN 4K IN BORDERLESS"

The end.
That's all the info required.
Literally nothing else.
Stop derailing my topic.

Ya know what. This is too much frustration to deal with steam forum users and try to make a little game work.

Yeah nobody needs any more info. I can see how this is frustrating for you. Obviously every system is the same, and all potential solutions solve all setups.

"Have you tried turning it off and back on again??" :berserk:

I'd be happy to help! Did you try fullscreen yet? It's not the usual fullscreen that will change your monitor resolution. It actually works the same as borderless window. I also have a multi-monitor setup, with very mixed resolutions, and it works good with fullscreen.
I have not heard about any such issues on Steam Deck yet. Maybe it has trouble with the borderless window setting, that gets cloud synced to your Deck?

If you tried it, could you tell if it works, or why you think it's unrealistic to run it like that?
