Dome Keeper
Is the Missile Launcher not that great?
Or is it just me who don't know how to use it properly? I am pretty new to the game.

So had my first game with the Missile Launcher. I had a hard time getting value out of it. Sometimes it attacked the monster I was already killing. Sometimes the monster was too fast so it missed. Sometimes it went for a small enemy, And then you only have so many missiles.

I find the Shockwave Hammer have much more value as it targets all enemies on the screen and reloads itself after each use. The Electro Blast only has 1-2 charges but at least it hits all enemies nearby, so it's easy to predict how it will work and get value out of it.

So that's basically what I think is my issue with the missiles. They are not easy to predict and they don't always give you value. They also require a lot more attention from the player.

Personally I wish they worked more like the hammers. Press once to fire all missiles but they are weaker and faster. And then they reload, cooldown dependant on upgrades. And maybe have them prioritize flying enemies.

Missile Launcher can be hit or miss, especially without Reload supplement. Hammer is consider the best offensive gadget (and copula slot) gadget in the game. And since both Missile Launcher and Hammer take dome secondary active ability slot, that means you will over takes Hammer over Missiles. Also, Spire on long runs saves so much hp (especially with energy trap) and does a lot of damage if used with split projectiles.

I love the Missile Launcher. It's a lot of fun and very effective, but more so later in runs, after you've upgraded it all of the way and gotten the Restock Rockets upgrade (essential). It's almost overpowered then, since it does massive damage and you can use it for the entire wave. It's especially handy when you're overrun. For example, I just did a run in which I was often late to reach my dome and there were already 10+ monsters attacking me. I just spammed all of my rockets and that got everything under control.

I could be wrong, but I think that how it works is that the first rocket will go towards the toughest enemy. If you send another before it hits, it'll go to the next toughest enemy and so on. That could be why it sometimes went to the enemy that you were targeting, assuming you were targeting the toughest enemy. Also, spacing your shots out might get the most value from each rocket. Once you get Restock Rockets, though, you don't need to worry about that. I just spam all of my rockets near the beginning of the wave so that the restock cooldown starts and I can eventually use them all again. On the final waves, I can even use them all a third time (maybe even a fourth time; I'm not sure).

I can see the reload supplement making a big difference. How easy is that to get? They are random right? And you can't get them on the smallest map I belive? Do you need to get some guild rewards to make this happen?

I have not started on the Guild Assignments yet. I want to beat some regular Relic Hunt runs first on different difficulties and map sizes. Want to enjoy playing the game with no rewards first.

So on small maps there are no supplement chamber at all.
Supplements and gadgets are random but... once you get guild rewards such as 3 option offer, free reroll of gadgets/supps selection and especially water reroll for gadgets/supps, the RNG is mostly gone and you can get what you want, most of the time.

Thanks for the info! I'll save the missiles for when I have some of those rewards.
