Timelapse GIF save path?
I viewed the timelapse post-run and clicked 'save' (or whatever) and the screen briefly showed me the path where it was saved but I can't find it anywhere
any tips on where to find it or what keywords to search for?

On windows the path is like this, where your save games are stored too: C:\Users\reneh\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Dome Keeper\gif

It would be a good idea to be able to choose the save location manually.

Hey New Guy,

Thank you for the suggestion!
The next update v4.1 will support the function to select the storage location for the gif file via file explorer.

Does this work on Linux? I couldn't find the gifs anywhere on the Steam Deck. The savegames were in $HOME/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Dome Keeper, but not the gifs.

Could you send a screenrecording and some screenshots of the issue to ron@bippinbits.com?

Hey, Ron. Happy New Year! I found this thread while looking for the timelapse .gifs on a Steam Deck and wanted to confirm that they're nowhere to be found.

I've clicked on 'save' after quite a few runs, but there are no .gifs in the Dome Keeper folder (or apparently anywhere on the Deck's filesystem for that matter).

Also, since you mentioned you were meaning to add the option to change the .gif save folder in update 4.1... Is that option supposed to be available on the Steam Deck now? I haven't seen it in the game menus and that makes me think that something's not working as intended.

I'd be happy to send something to your e-mail, but it would just be a screenshot of the /.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Dome Keeper folder without any .gifs. That doesn't sound like much help. :)

Hey,

Happy New Year to you too!

We’ve already introduced the option to specify an individual save path. The OS file manager should open, allowing you to choose where to save. However, this issue still persists on the Steam Deck and other Linux-based operating systems.

As we’re currently focused on a major update for the game, I can’t provide an exact timeline for resolving this problem. I hope you understand this and still enjoy the game!

No worries, it's good to know it's still on your to-do list. Looking forward to the next update!

The files are saved in c:\users etc etc, but that's a windows thing, so I'm assuming the files end up in whatever wine instance Steam created for the game.
I'm not really savvy enough to find them myself. 😅

I lied, I apparently AM savvy enough to find them. :3
I searched for the file in the
/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/
folder, and it came up with
/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1637320/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Desktop/
The numbers are probably different for other people, but there's a place to start looking.
