Cannot get past the telemetry screen on Steam Deck
I just bought the game to try it out. There were several reviews talking about how awesome it is on the Steam Deck.

However, I can't get past the screen that asks about telemetry. No controller buttons do anything. I tried changing my controller scheme to mouse/keyboard and that didn't work either.

I'll try a few more things to see if I can get it to work. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm on my PC and I am also stuck at this screen, very very frustrating to put a game on sale and then the consumer can't get past the first menu...

Repairing didn't work, I had to uninstall and reinstall. It's working but ngl this is starting as a sour experience so far.

Sorry for the issue! We haven't seen this bug before and it doesn't seem to happen with everyone, but i'll try my best to fix it.

Can you tell if the button press is registering, so do you hear a sound and do you see the button move when you press it? Or does it not seem pressable at all? Same for both buttons?
I'm trying to understand if it is a UI problem or a game logic problem first.

It doesn't seem like any buttons are registering. I can't hear any sounds, or see any cursor.

When I switched to mouse mode I could occasionally get the button to highlight like a cursor was hovering over it, but doing a mouse click did nothing.

I'll try reinstalling the game later. Restarting the steam deck had no effect.

Could it be some overlay, like a Steam overlay?

I could reproduce an issue where no button was focussed, so just pressing confirm/enter would not work. But if you use the mouse mode, it should work fine.
I'll fix the issue in the next patch in any case, maybe that makes it work for you. I expect the patch this week, hopefully thursday afternoon.

Same with me, absolutely nothing i can do to interact with the game on my deck. I can't believe this is advertised as "verified".

Also having the same issues on my steam deck. Buttons not working, but I can use the touch screen to make a selection at the telemetry screen. After selecting ether option, the game will crash.

I was finally able to hit an option and it crashed the same as yours.

I don't have any overlay enabled from what I can tell. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and no luck. I do hear music playing when I'm on this screen.

If it crashes, please try the proton version, that should work. It's a bit strange, as the native linux version also works fine in general. We'll investigate it.

Hi, I had this problem as well, on regular PC. Nevertheless, I found the problem (and the solution): It seems like when the UI mouse is on one of the telemetry buttons, the actual mouse (that does the interacting) is actually quite a bit up and to the left. So to click the buttons I had to move my mouse right and downwards a bit and then I saw that the buttons were highlighted and I could click them. The weird thing is that after the telemetry screen, the problem ceased to exist, as the mouse was "in its correct place" in the game itself. I can see if I can send a recording of it if I can replicate it on a new install.

I had this issue as well on a Steam Deck on first launch (native Linux version). I found that by using the Steam button + right touchpad (the Steam chord for mouse control), the buttons were still lighting up occasionally when I would "mouse over" them, but no cursor was visible. Through trial and error I was able to highlight the button to accept telemetry and click it normally.

From my perspective, it seems like the problem was just that the cursor was not visible on that screen. Just my two cents though.

I was able to do that as well, but whenever I accept the telemetry the game just crashes.

I tried using Proton as suggested earlier, but that made no difference. This is the first game I've ever considered refunding due to it just plain not working.
