Unbalanced waves
So, something about how enemies attack changed with the Assessor update. From what I can see, all enemies of a certain type only spawn on one side in each given wave. And the "Dive Bombers" doesn't appear at all.

At later waves (+45), if you get unlucky and all high hp enemies come from the same side it seems impossible to survive. Sure, it might just be me not being good enough. I would love to hear other people's perspective on this.

Now, this only being my opinion, here's why I think it's bad for the game. When I failed a wave before the update, I knew that I messed up, and I knew what I had messed up. Which made me able to alter my approach and do better next time. As it is now, it feels pointless trying to do better, because better won't help against the inevitable wall of death I know is fast approaching after wave 40.

And I feel that this forces me to play the game in a way that isn't very fun. If I have a bad start and come up short on resources, since I feel there's no point trying to compensate that with trying to survive more waves, I just give up and start over.

So, what do everyone else think? Do you like these changes? If so, what do you like about it?

Oh, and before I forget. Please bring back the "Dive Bombers". I felt they gave almost a musical rhythm to the fights. Almost like trying to match the beat in Guitar Hero.

It's my only guess, but spawning adversaries from the different side may take more points to the algorythm, because I had the situation when previous wave spawned 2 drilling monsters and 5 "runners" from the only side, but the next one would spawn 2 "jumpers" and 1 drilling one from both and with delay.

Naturally, that can be factored to RNG randomly adding\substracting points or how there is no set pattern for enemy roster in Prestige mode, so the distribution process may (and I personally feel) have some issues.

My only opinion here would be to skip Prestige mode for a time being. Distribution in Relic Hunt have been quite fair for as long as I can remember it. Maybe, Prestige just needs the same patterns bound to the world (though it will make people yell about "the easy" worlds and how RNG is framing them with bad choices for their build).

Thanks for the response. Can't wait to get off from work to see how it plays out.
I appreciate the Developers being active on the forums. One extra problem I have noticed since last update is that the game seems to spawn an unbalanced amount of Gorillas (The guys that jump on your base and pound.) This proves to be a big problem with laser base since you have to pull all focus off other waves just to target one monster. I used to reliably get to wave 50 and above. Now at about wave 40 I will get a random wave with 6 Gorillas and it wipes me.(This is with max weapon upgrades.) The waves felt way more balanced Pre Assessor patch. They felt like they gradually got harder. Now they feel like you get a random wave 60 group when you just hit wave 40. On a side note :Great game. I play every day, and look forward to your teams new ideas and great work.
The other imbalance seems to be the punishing way the difficulty ramps up in prestige especially when you make certain upgrades to your base. As an experiment I rushed to get Max damage on both Sword and Lazer domes. (I thought I should be able to fend the next 20 waves off easily.) as soon as I bought the final upgrade at wave 19 I was sent an insane wave that crashed my dome. I felt far weaker upgrading my weapons due to the insane difficulty. Now being that prestige is how many waves you can survive it seems counter intuitive to be punished that harshly for efficiently mining or making defensive purchases. I feel The waves should steadily get more difficult .As of now a wave 30 could be just as punishing as a wave 40 due to it being heavily weighted on how many resources and purchases made. Its weird if I mine slow I make it to wave 50 something. But if I mine fast Every wave punishes more and more. I'm no expert at the game my top score is only 35k in prestige but it feels like the more efficient I get the more lop sided the wave difficulty becomes. I love the game and appreciate your hard work.
