It's the very first tree in the upgrades...middle branch I believe. The icon for it is a screwdriver =)
One follow up unrelated question, do you only get to keep one upgrade for the next run?
That would kind of defeat the purpose of the game and finding relics.
I think keeping 1 is already more than enough as you can start out upgrading it early on and getting an advantage.
Great for people who have a hard time with the game.
For example, the additional difficulty of easy allowing the player to keep one each round.
For you this might "defeat the purpose", but then I'd humbly suggest you can play on normal or above and enjoy the game the way you want to play it while at the same time allowing others to play as I suggested. After all, the purpose is fun.
This is of course but one way you could make a design tweak with an addition of an easy difficulty to broaden accessibility , there are countless other ways you could adjust the game for the casuals (thought I'd get that word out of the way before someone else brings it up). Oh and of course git gud. ;)
Like I was playing Monster Hunter a lot when it came out, then I just got stuck on a certain part of the game and couldn't progress and that of course made me just never touch the game again even if up until that part I had really liked the game.
So yeah, if there was an easy mode or like an almost sandbox mode where you could change everything you wanted, like longer time between waves, smaller waves, starting with certain upgrades and so on, that could be good for people that just wanna play it to relax.
For once I actually am good at this sort of game so in this one I wouldn't want that (for myself), but in a lot of other games I just wanna take things slow and unlock stuff at my own pace.
Like I'm the person that love playing Civilization games...but I hate wars cause it slows my research and explansions (as in city-buildings and wonders) down.
I'm the player that has the 3 largest cities in the world....but then have no more cities =p
