Freezing and stuttering booting up the game
My buddy has a quest 3, using a link cable to connect to his pc.
He can run every other vr game just fine. But Crossfire Sierra Squad gives him trouble.
When he boots up the game, it takes a long time for the assets to load. His camera pov is stuck on a single frame and will show black space around that frame if he moves his head in any direction, like the headset is stalling. When pulling up task manager, all of his resources are fine. Nothing is throttling in the performance graphs, it seems to be just his headset possibly. I've already instructed him to update his nvidia graphics drivers. But nothing seems to stick. After a while, he can play the game for a small bit, but it'll start to lag and stutter badly again. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

His specs are:
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
Intel Core i74700 2.10 GHz
32 Gigs of Ram
Quest 3s

I had this problem with another app. It was because Windows 10 was defaulting to my CPU graphics instead of the Nvidia GPU. Your friend could try this:
- Open Windows Settings (gear cog on start menu)
- Go to System > Display and scroll down and hit Graphics Settings
- Hit Browse.
- Navigate to the Crossfire Sierra Squad .exe (for me it's in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\CFSS).
- Highlight the CFSS.exe and hit add.
- This will generate a dropdown box in graphics settings for CFSS, hit options, and change the preference from 'Let Windows Decide' to your Nvidia GPU and hit save.
May or may not help but could be worth a pop.
