Stuck after power of time powerup

Just got the power of time powerup.
Need to go north through a hallway of cannons.
figured out that I need to shoot the crystals to charge the powerup.
but am not able to make it up the hallway in time.
Bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Boost.
Respec into boost speed and power of time potency if boosting isn't enough with your timing.
