Valve Index Replacement Tether

Valve Index Replacement Tether

Out of stock
I was wondering if theres any way to know when the replacement tether will come back in stock. I tried contacting the steam support a few weeks ago for the bases stations wich are also out of stock. The answer i got was they could not know and could not help me with that information.

I want to buy a replacement tether as an insurance cause we never know what can happen.

Any luck? I love my Index and It's slowly fizzling away because of the cable. I need a replacement badly.

My cable just got ruined and all I need is to buy a replacement but I cant even do that. There's no info on when they'll become available but they're more than willing to sell them in bundles...

I also need a replacement , hopefully they come back in stock soon.

Agreed. They better be honest about the availability of cables. It's strange to me that the headset and cable is available if you buy a full package, but not as individual pieces even though they claim the pieces are for sale. Currently investigating if Valve is fraudulently displaying replacement parts to increase sales of the packages with the intent to never sell replacement parts.

Cmon Valve , it's been months, some of us are dead in the water and refuse to buy a whole bundle. If I have to buy another VR bundle it'll be a Vive Pro with wireless instead. Mic or not this is ridiculous.

I've been without a tether for about 60 days now. I'm considering jumping ship at this point.

The price is bad enough, but having to wait who knows how long is like salt in the wound. I REALLY hope these become available soon. I can see new sparkles appearing every day now.

Oooo I have a really bad feeling about this. Has anyone found a third party replacement?

+1 from me on jumping ship on these guys. It doesn't make sense to me that they would want to lose any sales of these. Mine has the snow and popping and works for maybe a few hours before cutting out. Then I have to unplug it and wait around 30-45 minutes before it will work again.

Hey Valve, how about I order a bundle, swap out the cable, then return it for a refund? That's what you're asking to happen!

I am in the same ship as you. Snow and crackling if i am lucky enough for the headset to not get error 436. Then it will just randomly turn the display off. To the person who mentioned the vive pro, i got the vive pro 2 because i was tired of this ecosystem, but man the audio was so bad compared to the index i returned it almost immediately. not to mention the weird FOV. Valve needs to get their business in order, i can't imagine how they plan on supporting the steam deck, if they can't handle this.

Aug 13th here and still no word on any stock anywhere. The only one I found was a used one on ebay and sadly it sold for over 200$+ from people bidding...this is how bad the market is for these things...A 1000$ headset that cant even last more than 1+ year in comparison to my vive that I had for Idk anymore, still working perfectly.

Steam wants to drop a steam deck, but can't even keep common stock of VR headsets after 2 + years

If your headset is still under warranty you can request a replacement tether at no cost. If you wait until after your warranty runs out then you have no one to blame but yourself.

The warranty was only one year. My warranty was up long before I started having some issues with my cable.
