delete item in backpack

How do I delete or DROP an item in my backpack? I have tried everything and can't seem to be able to do this...any thoughts? I have an item to pickup but it won't as backpack is full but i don't want to come back again to crab islands?? I use Xbox controller

It depends on what you are trying to drop -- if it's a quest item, you may not be able to destroy it. For all other items, you should be able to open your inventory, click on the item, and then click on the trashcan icon in the lower right corner of the inventory screen.

i press all the right buttons and nothing?? so frustrating what is the toggle?? sorry if i sound dumb but just can't get it done with everything and every button I push or hold??

items you collect when your backpack is full could end up in your mail box. if you can pick up an item with full back pack, you have to leave it there. That is why we have an update for a boat storage so you can transfer to CC storage from your boat.
what is it you are trying to pick up on 5 Crabs?
you will return to 5 Crabs a lot anyway.

another tip, is to move your tools and food up to the hot bar to make more room in your back pack for other stuff

Sorry, I guess I should ask first, are you using a controller or keyboard/mouse? You can also email us directly at contact@play-crittercove.com (might be faster too!)

Is there not a big Bin in the bottom-right corner of your inventory?
If you highlight an item then select the bin, that should delete it.

Cosmetics also can’t be deleted. Was having the same issue when I was trying to delete the cozy crove hat, but it wouldn’t let me. You also can’t sell cosmetics to Renard either. Sadge.
