Best way to light up the town?

It gets REALLY dark at night, I wanted to spread lights all over the town so it's illuminated, but what's the best option? the regular "street light" you can craft has a very very small area around it for the light. Would need an absurd amount to properly light the town and it'd look silly with that many. Is there better things?

I'm fond of lantern pillars. The don't have much larger a lighted area, but they look more pleasant to me. Can get the blueprint from the furniture store if you have someone who likes working there.

Lantern pillars are a vast improvement on the street lights as they light a larger radius and don't have dust particles effect blocking part of your vision.

For your own use when traveling, breaking down lanterns scattered about will eventually give you a recipe for a travel lantern that can be placed in the quick access bar that can provide some help when not using another tool.

You can also be gifted Tiki Torches by villagers and those can be placed in your town only problem is they cannot be duplicated
