Reuseable air tanks
Why are air tanks thrown out after being used once? We literally fill rusty tanks with air and use them. They just evaporate? As a former diver, my mind is blown away by this.

I really didnt even think about that! We should be able to refill those as well!

I could see this, but the air tank economy would absolutely have to change. The current economy is based on single-use tanks. If you kept finding tanks laying around and could reuse them all, you'd wind up with stacks of 99 and just be able to cruise the bottom of the sea all week long with no worry.

I'd wager air tanks would no longer just be found. You'd only get them from specific quests to keep the number you have under control.

You can reuse them through the recycler. Put it through the recycler and it will have full air again.

Only rusty tanks that you find. Ones already made into regular tanks are one-time use.

Nope, the ones you already made will get refilled with air. I refill my scuba all the time using it. To be specific, you have to put your scuba in the recycler not the tank itself.

That sounds like an oversight on their part. A bug. And you can't recycle if you use all the air because it disappears.

I wouldn't mind being requiring a fee or an item every time I refilled a tank.

That's actually interesting if it doesn't let you recycle it once all the air is gone. Mine is always completely depleted & the recycler lets me put it in and it has full air again.

What do you do with the used scuba glases??? Right now they just fill up space, and it its tricky to remember witch ones are empty or not??

You only need 1 set of scuba glasses, they just determine whether you can use air tanks or not. Only the air tanks are used up. Duplicate scuba glasses can just be recycled or thrown away.

People seem to be building multiple Scuba or recycling them to reset the O2 gauge, this is definitely not an intended gameplay loop.

You're meant to have only 1 Scuba and a stack of Airtanks in your inventory. When your Scuba runs out, an Airtank in your inventory is consumed to refill the O2 gauge on the Scuba.

Thanks for the answer but it just didn happen. I have mutiply filled airtanks in my inventory but i still ran out... so it seems that the airtanks was connected to one pair of scuba.

Funny, I thought some Air Tanks were returned to the inventory. Maybe I didn't spent too much time diving, since I got like 20 of them.

Anyways, the shipwreck west of the island generally has empty Air Tanks spawning when a storm happens.

Naw. It's just that they're very common to find. Not only lying around, but you usually get one (sometimes I believe 2) from balloon carts you salvage..
