refilling scuba tank

I have a new filled yellow scuba tank but can't figure out how to replace the used one. At least, I think it's filled.

If you have a filled one in your inventory, when the old one runs out, it will automatically switch to the filled one. I don't believe this has changed but you can't refill the used one and it just disappears from your inventory when empty. In the demo, there is a set amount of old scuba tanks that can be found and one can be purchased from Renard's store.

I had made a new scuba set. I ran out of air, but the backup didn't kick in. I had already made the new set, so next time I'll just leave the filled tank (not the whole scuba set) in my inventory. So far, Renard had sold me two. Thanks for your help.

Sorry if this is too basic of a question, but after purchasing rusty tanks from Renard and/or finding them as salvage, are you taking them to the air refill station to turn them from rusty tanks to the yellow, refilled tanks?

Yes, it was refilled to yellow. I left the filled tank in my inventory and it appears to have worked. I made it too difficult by trying to actually replace it myself in the scuba set. Thanks.
