Is there a blueprint somewhere to make additional storage chests?

You have to dismantle trunks around town and other places to learn the blueprint (one way that you will get many of your blueprints). Then it will be on your furniture workbench when you get that.

I've been dismantling a lot but haven't came across a storage chest anywhere, are you sure about this? Because the storage chest is already in the game which we got at the start of demo, just can't find a way to make more.

Is it on your furniture workbench? There is some sort of a portable box that can be made but I don't think that is the same as the storage chest.

The storage chest is called a Basic Trunk. And yes you should be able to learn the recipe by dismantling broken ones around Critter Cove town. I found all the ones needed for it in the town. For other blueprints you will have to go to other islands or dive to find the pieces you need. :)

And yes once you have learned the blueprint it's crafted on the furniture workbench.

I see the basic trunk in the menu for locked blueprints with 0 progress on it and I've dismantled most everything around town so I don't know where I could of missed it, I will do more searching but I'm starting to wonder if it's a bug.

That does sound strange. I'm playing the EA version atm and it's been a while since I played the demo, so not sure if there has been recent issues with it. I haven't seen any mention of it though.

When I was clearing the town debris during the demo I don't remember ever seeing a notice that I had x number towards unlocking a basic trunk, never saw a trunk in the demo, so I thought maybe a blueprint for it wouldn't be available until ea release, I carried my demo save over so now that the town is cleaned what do I do to get a blueprint for it? I hope I don't have to start over.

To be honest I would recommend just starting a new game now that you have the full game. But otherwise I can only suggest making a bug report or joining the discord - it's sometimes faster to get help/answers in there: https://discord.gg/eYFVPb74N3

I played the demo many months ago and I rmb not being able to craft a chest for ages until I either got on my boat and went to another island or started diving and dismantled stuff there. I remember dumping stuff into my wardrobe because I was desperate lol. I'll buy the game when I get back home from work and update later.

It may be that OP's just very unlucky with the broken trunks and they have only spawned on the other islands in that save. I actually thought the broken stuff in the main town was the same for everyone, but maybe it's random there too. Really bad luck though to not find any broken trunks at all in town.

So there are 8 damaged chests on Critter Cove. Only need 5 to complete the recipe.

You can also craft a basic wardrobe at the furniture table and put whatever you want in there
