Great question - I've added a full response to the main thread. Short answer is no, it won't be verified at launch but it is going to be verified during Early Access, and it's very playable on the Steam Deck at launch.
Hey! That's correct you cannot remap controls yet. We'll be adding controller remapping in our first update, it's already planned in and in our roadmap.
I apologise we haven't got it in yet. You're right, it is important. In hindsight, we should have added it in from the ground up. I think we considered it to be a 'polish' feature rather than an accessibility one for too long. We also planned it in as something to do once controller support was in, but only added any controller support very late into development which delayed it.
So if its something that's required, obviously you shouldn't pick this one up yet, but we are working through this and other accessibility options.
Anyway I plan on at least trying the game since controller support is available and it should make the game playable for me.
Ah that sucks dude, yeah, you're right, unfortunately it was just an overlook, yeah. I hope you'll be able to play alright and we'll make sure remapping doesn't get moved out from update one so it's marked as a priority.
We're learning as we go, this week we also removed a fishing minigame that was causing accessibility issues we hadn't considered, and we may add that back in as optional later when we have more time to make settings configurable rather than one or the other, so all this information helps us.
Does that mean there is no longer any fishing? Or just that the way fishing is done has changed for the time being?
I like the bar, it's more immersive, sort of gives the feeling of actually reeling in a fish like irl, but I have played some games where the mini game was complicated with weird kb moves and it wasn't much fun.
Just the minigame, and perhaps just for now. Fishing is still in there for sure!
Yay!
Are the visual accessibility issues (lightning and rain drops) part of the "other accessibility options" still be worked through?
Yes, we'll look at those as part of the priority stuff, too.
