How to you empty your hands

Example, if I choose to water my garden then walking around with the watering can all day..
Kinda annoying 😑
I'm sure there's gotta be a way?

Probably a better way to do it but I leave a slot on my hot bar empty, usually the last one, slot 8. When I want my hands empty I click 8 on my keyboard and I then have empty hands. I checked the mouse and keyboard controls in setting but couldn't find anything there for it so...there is my workaround. Might make a great suggestion to the developers though. They have a Pinned "Issues Wishlist Survey" here on the first page. Drop a suggestion in there about it. It is a little annoying and maybe a right, left or center mouse click would be possible or maybe you can suggest a more intuitive way of doing it?

If you have the Watering Can in your Hotkey area - 1-8 Just press whatever number it's on.

If it's on 4 for example, pressing 4 will put it away
