I don't understand how this works. I spent some time and the girl's card remained the same at the statuses.

You basically need to have sex with the girls in order for their status to progress. Depending on the type of sex you have with them, one statistic or another will increase. For example, "rough" sex will increase her pain status, etc...

Try to interact with another girl or use the "sleep" option, I also think there is a "maximum" in each session, that is, it doesn't matter if you spend 1 hour or 5 minutes, the girl's experience cannot go up more than a certain point per session.

I usually use it to update the status and location of the girls. The game is automatically saved both when you sleep, when you end a session with one of them or when you make changes to the game settings. For example, if you are interested in interacting with a girl, but she is with another in one place, when sleeping the girls move to another location.

I've also found out that, if you have the girl cards saved on folders, by using the "Call a Girl" function, it works fine, but if you "walk around the hall" the girl card with the new info is saved on the general "Female" folder, so you will need to drag it onto the propper folder and overwrite it.
