Outputting a Fullscreen recording session on OBS
I need some help getting obs to record a fullscreen session on OBS. Im on windows 11. The game itself plays fine while obs is recording. The play back though is a small square in the upper left corner. WHat settings do I need to adjust so that recording output is fullsreen? OBS has told me that the resolution settings and disciples 2 settings need to match. Though there is no numerical information about what settings disciples 2 is at. Though the recording, outside of the resolutions runs great and the game plays full screen with some adjustments in resolution as the screen flips around in resolutions when it starts up.

Game have switcher between 1024x768 and 800x600. Steam desktop links NEVER WORKED. You need start hard directly from Steam. For this game you get promt to launfh game or game settings utility.

I guess should be ok to put oitput higher that game resolution... More important is to enable "force keep aspect ratio" in video driver and OBS. And in games settings, or to be correct - in wrappers if you use one of them. There is DisciplesGL wrapper mod which make game render in openly as well as windowed-only (normal or border less full windowed). There keep ratio option in there.

Im not using steam. Its an independent launch. So I will check the Disciples GL wrapper mod. I had to use some sort of modification to get rid of pink squares. I will try to set out put to 800 x 600. Ill check into the dl wrapper. Ill let you know how it worked. THe in game menu has no settings to change. It would have to be adjusted in Disciples GL.

Since DisviplesGL work in windowed it is captured as Desktop. For that wrapper mod you must set 800x600 in game. Desktop capturing always work. Any windowed modes use all settings (eg even brightness) from Desktop. In any capturing app you can set desktop resolution, cause game will render in 800x600 window sized (x600 is for Do2/ROTE) with desktop resolution as actual game resolution.

If you use non steam version should be Start menu link to configedit. Exe. But that not help. Or help if you set 1024x768 in both game and OBS. But I'm sure OBS support higher than game resolution.
But to get more better results - windowed mode. Native game windowed also good to capture (also require 800x600 resolution)

Non of that is actual solution for initial topic issue. Not perfect.
But I guess capturing is for streaming or at least offline play through videos recorded. DisciplesGL is almost mandatory for it's additional features like speed wrap. To make viewers more comfort Viewing. Issue resolved automatically. But only as game mod, DisciplesGL is a bit more than compatibility wrapper (not compatible in online).

I know two possible sources of initial issue.
Windows Tablet PC with customer display proportions (not real 16:9 like some desktop monitors in 1366x768 too)... And Microsoft Tablets especially with bad video drivers issue (probably solved in time).

Video driver virtual resolution which one increase resolution.

Oh and third one - compatibility wrappers, that ones with settings with resolution customisation. Although even with turn off Keep ratio optimal should be no issues... It really can stretch to wide. Still probably too much higher resolution be set.

For compatibility just use Narzoul ddrawcompat or any else without settings (narzoul prior to 4.x.x versions).
