If you could play a little, try completing a level or a Daily Tidy, then send us your Player.log to support@maxinferno.com, that would be helpful. Here's some info on how to locate the Player.log file:
* Windows: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\maxinferno\A Little To The Left\Player.log (the AppData folder may be hidden; to reveal it follow the guidance on this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-97fbc472-c603-9d90-91d0-1166d1d9f4b5 )
* MacOS: Open up Finder app, and go to the "Go" option in the top menu, then "Go To Folder", and paste in the following: ~/Library/Logs/maxinferno/A Little To The Left/Player.log
Thank you for getting back to me. I do in fact get no achievements at all. I sent the player log to the support address you provided along with some system information. If you need any more information, let me know.
Also in case someone else stumbles across this in the future with a similar setup: The player.log on Linux is located at .steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1629520/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/maxinferno/A Little To The Left/Player.log
Thank you maxinferno and thanks for making this awesome game!
For those who stumble across the thread, the system config in question is Debian Linux (Trixie) via Proton Experimental.
If we're able to find a resolution, I will be sure to update the thread with details.
Thanks to Max Inferno's amazing support I managed to get my achievements to work. The solution was to enforce usage of Proton 7.0.6 instead of Proton Experimental.
Usually I know games to run not at all when the Proton version doesn't work with them, but apparently in this case it only broke the initialization for the Steam API that handles the game hooks for achievements. Wouldn't have figured that one out for months to come.
Thank you Max Inferno and happy tidying to everyone else!
