It’s unintuitive to me. I can’t remember how I did it in the campaign. What shadows do I need to lineup? On the edges or the middle?

Spin the clockhands so that they match the shadow.
It's different everytime, mine was an other time than Id_rather_play_Minecraft. The end of the clockhand is a leaf.

I agree, this one isn't intuitive at all, but once you learn what you need to do, it's easy. What we need to do is to line up THE CLOCK HANDS with the shadows, isn't the whole clock, neither the shadows behind the clock with the shadows on the clock, it's the HOUR HAND and MINUTE HAND with the shadows. The hour hand must match a leaf, and the minute hand must match a stick.

Thanks for the clarity. I spent ages trying to lineup the shadows on the clock face/body with the shadows behind it. 30 consecutive daily tidies is still alive :)

I found this thread thanks to Google (for once actually giving me what I looked for!); thank you all for explaining how these puzzles actually work! I had to use the hint in the main sequence and still had no clue, I thought it was about lining up the big bar shadow as that happened to work out for the one I did before... Never even looked at the leaves & twigs across the face of the clock!
