Candle Level (Chapter 5)

I can't get this one. It's the one where you gotta light the candles to burn them or regrow them. I figured you gotta have them burn out at the same time (?) but it seems almost impossible to do so. Am I doing it wrong?

There are two ways to solve this one - w/o spoiling it too much, the height of the candlesticks don't factor into the solutions as much as I was expecting!

do the opposite of what you did to figure out the first solution... in other words, do it the other way.

Hmm there seems to be more than 2 ways to solve this puzzle then, because I got 2 stars without using a hint and all I did was make all of the candles grow to their tallest height and then make them all the same height as the shortest candle. For the second star, I just did the same thing but in reverse, I burned them all to the smallest height and then grew each candle to the same height as the tallest fully burned candle. I never made them diagonal.

Yes, I found out the diagonal way worked.

I legitimately believe the diagonal solve for this puzzle makes little to no intuitive sense. I also don't understand why there wasn't a third potential solution for the candles themselves matching the same height as the holders themselves.
