How do you save the game?

So Universe for Sale autosaves a different points of the story. A save icon will appear in the bottom right when saving.

Is there any way to trigger a save? We just played the marketplace segment for at least 10 or 15 minutes, quit, and were reset to the point where we entered the market.

I've found this a common problem among indy games. I can understand that creating an explicit save routine for the end user may take extra time and resources for the developer. Still, in my experience it kills my interest in the story if I have to repeat a lot of dialogs or have to redo the mindless clicking to find the right pixel to advance the story.
