Ironweed bomb glitch - can't throw the bomb

I am facing Gozzy and have gone to Moonbeard's house to fetch the second bomb. However when I have collected it and return to Gozzy's page, and jump into the book, no 'throw' message comes up from the ironweed. I have gone in and out of the pages again, run around the whole level, tried every button I can and nothing works. What should I try next?
