I'm Dutch and even understood some lines within the song as some words are close to the Dutch counterparts. Kinda felt like meeting a long lost family member.
Actually this song is a religious christian psalm and it have been debated in 10 years time if it should or should not be sung on school term endings.
Those behind the debate are the scared Swedish people who think it would upset atheists and muslims.
This song is now so deep imprinted in Swedish traditions so that they can't take it away.
What your'e talking about kid? In sweden ya tool.
In the late 90s at some places we couldn't even use the swedish flag.
Dont use words like hate that you dont even understand its meaning, just makes you look even dumber.
No, it was because of the muslim population, not atheists since they care for traditional values.
It is so funny, I am a 90s kid and I was brought up in a area with a lot of immigrants, and a lot of muslims.
Not once was this discussed about being banned from schools. Howerver- I know that the children did not appreciate having to go to church at the end of the school year, since that contradicted other peoples faiths having to sing psalms and whatnot.
Have you got any sources regarding this?
Södermanlands Län
Its being in the news 2006, 2014 and 2019
2006 muslem parents reported to DO i Hisingen, DO wanted to ban it.
its been talked 2006, 2014, 2019
Immigrants in the past before iraq war(90s) consisted mostly of people from former Yugoslavia.
I am from Yugoslavia, and none of us had any issues singing "Den blomstertid nu kommer."
To me, it sounds like you are just making things up to stir the pot. This sounds like something made-up to stir the pot and make people upset about nothing. Nobody had any issues singing "Den blomstertid nu kommer." People did not like having to go to church during the school graduation, since some people were Muslims or of other faiths.
I have yet to see you actually provide me with any sources. All you are tellimg me is that "muslim parents reported to DO to ban it." Where? Can you give me the articles?

Well this must have totally flied passed my head, Being raised here i never heard anyone have a issue like that.
But since its been in the news i guess you have some sources to link us to confirm that you are right in this matter.
If you where old enough you should know internet wasnt that common in the mid early 90s........
Its wasnt because of people from Yugoslavia.. "Den blomstertid nu kommer." is a psalm...
Same went with having the swedish flag, it wasnt all over sweden but some schools just didnt do it since they could make their own choice in the matter.
My school precinct was one of those.
You can find one article in expressen, you should be old enough to be able to ding it, geez your making such an issue over it.
No, I am like legitimately asking you to give me the sources, not just state years and "you can find it on an off-hand link on expressen."
I am well aware that the internet was not that avalible in the mid early 90s, correct. I was born during the 90s. So I was in grad school in 2006. In Hjällbo for that matter.
I am making a issue about this because you are lying. I have actually googled "Förbjuda den blomstertid nu kommer." And the only thing I can find is religious fantatics with no sources whatsoever claiming that 'We won the battle against banning den blomstertid nu kommer'. But nowehere is it mentioned that the song was asked to be banned.
