Peak player count

Steam charts shows peak player count at just under 600. I think private profiles are not counted, but still I was expecting this to blow up. Lot of people missing out on a real gem here.

I think it's not a general audience type of game, so the mainstream audience will ignore it mostly. That's just how it is. Are they missing out, perhaps. Some people might want to wait until a discount and others are not buying due to some reason or another (some valid, others not so much). Let's players are also to blame for it... Why buy and play when you can watch someone else do it for you. Let's plays are double edged swords at times. Yes it's free PR, but it can also turn away a group who thinks, okay, now that I've seen it, no use for me to try it myself.

Personally I think you should not be hung up about how many people are playing, it's about the sales. I mean most that bought the game have already finished it. I bought it yesterday and I did. That means I won't be playing it nontstop. I also unlocked almost every trophy in one sitting (besides some minor ones) so no sense in returning right away.

It doesn’t really matter for a game like this, it’s a very short single-player game. People will play it and move on to other games. I personally am waiting for a sale because I cannot justify the price tag when the game will last me only 3-5 hours.

Actually, I am playing this on Playstation 5 so I`m not sure what the player count is there.
