I also guess the devs wanted us to admire her more. Since she is on the cover.
I guess this part bewitched us all. We fell for her and couldn't escape.
The Rakelady freaked me out at first as well, but then I got annoyed real quick because I never got the time to line up a shot. That one took me a loooooong time to complete because of it. The "omnomnomnom" moment during the battle did make me laugh out loud though. After that it no longer felt scary to me :P.
The Mountain King was also another "true" bossfight and had the most perfect theme ("In The Hall Of The Mountain King"). He was mostly "meh" but the music was perfect XD.
the rake lady is just creepy as hell but a bit frustrating as i think its longer than it should be.
I think the Mountain King over all was my favorite in terms of mechanics and music
Skogsrå felt like a proper boss fight also with great music.
Näcken's whole section was pure fun and my favorite to replay, again also adore his song.
Then Pesta was also super fun because of the way the fight plays out. I love those kind of boss battles that abuse the background/foreground and almost feels 3D.
Really, Kärrhäxan was the most underwhelming to me. She was creepy and the whole area was all about horror and she jumps out suddenly and screeching but compared to every other fight, even if butcher, just felt very simple and tame.
I loved how this game made every encounter so very unique and fun that I kinda wish for a boss rush of sorts or chapter points closer to the actual fights instead of having to go through the whole chapter.
Näcken's whole Pied Piper vibe was quite fun. Loved the platforming and the timing needed to use the boulders as cover.
The Shapeshifter was more shocking with how it ended.
My favourite though would have to be the Mountain King. Loved the little princling outfit and the music was epic. Once you realise the attacks are in synch with the music you can almost dance your way through the fight.
Pesta was a close second. The way she appears behind Olle as he is rowing is so creepy. The fight is both creepy and fun somehow.
Pesta was absolutely terrifying--the very first time she ate me, it was a total "OMG WTF" moment. I did like the lore behind the encounter, though, how it was more a mental battle than anything else--you can see how Pesta's beginning to grow weary or look like she's in pain between the encounters, which was a great touch to explain what was going on.
The Shapeshifter I enjoyed as far as mechanics go, but needless to say (just look at my name) it was a little bittersweet for me personally--why must the pretty woodland satyr lady be our enemy that we have to kill off?
