Can owners of the original still get the free upgrade

I just saw a post about owners of the original needing to fill out a google form. I didn't know anything about this and now the game is out.

It's too late.
All owners of the original game and the kickstarter backers cannot receive this game.
However you will get a 25% discount on this game, instead of the 15% discount.
The Devs had a huge amount of trouble getting everyone game keys.
As a result, almost nobody got game keys and almost everyone was given a bigger Discount on release instead.

So instead of just giving the game a major update or give it an expansion/dlc, they leave the game incomplete, delist it and then make a copy with better stuff added and say screw you to the people who paid for the original

Yes, and unlike 99% of other games who give away keys to previous owners automatically or atleast a month after release, this devs decided to give away keys only before release, without even making an announcement on the original game's news hub or forums, so 90% of the original owners probably never heard about them giving away keys.

You should make an announcement about this instead of forcing players to angrily search the forums.

Previously, the developer wrote that they parted ways with the publisher and lost access to all of the publisher's tools.
So this is not possible.
