How To Keep Ships All In One Fleet
Been trying to build powerful fleets. Got my first two built but every time i try to create a 3rd every ship that gets built instead of joining said fleet it splinters off and creates another, and another causing me to have multiple fleets of one or two ships. What am i doing wrong here? It is very annoying to say the least. Playing as the Klingons. Thank you in advance for any help given.

Each fleet has a fleet cap, which limits the number of ships you can have in a fleet. You can increase that cap via techs you can research.

If you build ships through the fleet manager UI, they should join the fleet you built them for.

For existing small fleets, you can select multiple fleets (box selection, select all ships in same system, or use shift-click in the outliner) and use the "merge fleets" button (top-left on the selected fleets display). This will only work up to the fleet size cap (starts at 20 and increases with certain tech). Also, you cannot merge fleets if there is more than one admiral (you have to remove the ones you don't want to keep from their ship).

I've been having a similar problem though where I create a new fleet using the fleet manager with a cap of 20. But once I click reinforce to build the ships, only 3-4 ships end up in said fleet and the rest becomes individual ships that can't be merged

I noticed this happening with Miranda ships like they were acting as leaders and could only have one per fleet even though they are just frigates.....

I"ve not had that TEC come up in the game im in, its super annoying (cause what tecs you may or may not get are all random)

I have like 10+ 20/20 fleets, getting to be a pain to manage them.

From late game experience you can have 200 capacity fleets running around

I"m in late game and still have 20/20 fleets flying around, I randomly cant get that research..

If you have shipyards in multiple systems, the fleet manager may use all of them to build your ships faster. If they do, the ships would then have to travel to the location of your fleet. They'll appear as new fleets while they do this, but they should automatically travel to and merge with the target fleet once they arrive.
