UFP - Borg [SPOILERS]
1. The borg feel ridiculously easy. Had a single borg sphere (kept referring to it as 'borg cube' though xD ) attack Earth. Took it out no problem.

2. Janeway reappeared (no pre-event chain to do with voyager, literally just "SURPRISE I'M BACK!") and rather than giving us USS Voyager...we get her as a scientist...on a science ship...called Fearless? Lame.

3. Now this is the problem I've encountered and idk if I'm doing something wrong:
-- The mission to disperse the pathogen against a borg cube at a highway node (its only 70 power? Non-hostile too btw)...I've assembled my fleets there. Along with Picard. Along with Janeway in her science ship.

The game view (system view) says I need 3 military ships, a science ship, and a scientists with Janeway trait.

But I can't trigger the research project from this screen (unlike in Stellaris where if you required multiple ships it is smart enough to understand the conditions are met).

So I go back to Missions screen...I still can't because requirements aren't met...it says I need an ADMIRAL with the Janeway trait!?

Janeway is a scientist not an admiral. I had no alternative option to make her admiral. Also the map-view says it needs a Scientist with Janeway trait.

So I literally can't complete that mission. Seems they changed their minds on making her an Admiral and made her a scientist (or vice versa)

yea a lot of what happens is pretty silly,,

So all i did was drag her "Fearless" over to the node. With my fleet sat waiting. then just clicked on the mission in the tab and it became doable. I never had to make her an admiral just left her on her science ship. You fight "2 waves of Borg" on the 3rd mission the cube that did nothing entire time just explodes. I did it on Commodore and never "Fought" a cube once it was only ever spheres. Strongest was 2k weakest 1.3k. Cube Just waited there for me to do my thing. It never felt like it was "OMG the Borg". Was "Meh Borg". Cardassians caused me way more issues then they did.

I had her on top of the borg and it wouldn't let me no matter what I tried Q.Q

But yeah the borg really did feel incredibly meh. Like they felt really early game too so I was panicking but when I faced them it was...meh

How Strange Starfleet with dedicated military ships, you'd think the explorers should be able to do both...

Yeah. Its the stellaris mechanic they've shoe-horned star trek into xD

Like it makes no sense to separate science ships with military ships in star trek (for any faction imo)

Completely agree, honestly we should have hulls and see how much we dedicate to science, exploration and direct military action, instead of building stellaris scouts

That'd be pretty neat tbf. Swapping military modules for science / scanning modules etc

and for the love of god...LESS WEAPON TYPES JFC xD

Agreed, more is not better.

Sounds like they should have released it as an early access title and got some feedback first. I enjoyed what I played, but it sounds like it needs some refining.

Borg should be very hard.

Wait a second. Let me get this straight.

Borg is not a mid-crisis or a playable menace (Stellaris term) but an early-game event to do?

I expected something with more "oh ♥♥♥♥, the entire galaxy is on fire" threat level either as AI or playable faction.

I would point out that most oeople today are probably playing our first game as the Federation after the tutorial, which I believe means it's in the easiest difficulty.

There's also game setup options to increase the severity of the crisis.

A few streamers cranked up the crisis strength, and the borg kicked their behinds in.
I also think that the Federation gets the most bonuses from their mission chains for the crisis.

Can you share link to streamer and borg contents?

I feel as though people don't understand the trademark limitations and concerns. The TNG license is being used...not the Voyager license. We can get Janeway...but not as a Voyager character. Thusly, no references to Voyager will be seen. That's another license requiring money. Let's try and keep our expectations low.

The streamer was Rev_Duce. Not sure the borg butt whooping is in a streamed playthrough, he was discussing some of the non-streamed games he played on the Discord last weekend.

Doesn't sound like the often galaxy-ending Borg we had in BOTF :(
