What i wouldn't give for an actual remake
Edit:
Found the link haha.. and i still had it bookmarked but failed to find it in all my freaking game bookmarks over the years
https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/onscreen/botf/viewtopic.php?t=3509
I remember I downloaded it from here and it was great playing it again but it crashed a good bit, I had to remember to save it every turn just in case..
ALso if i remember right, that DL might have had a ton of BotF mods in the download that you could install or not install.. damn its been ages, hard to remember lol
So yes, I shamelessly pre-ordered this game hoping to recapture the feeling.
It will scratch your Stellaris itch though, if you had one.
Theres actually 2 botf 2 projects as there was a branch split due to some creative differences.
Got tired of the borg always showing up within the first few turns and just flat out non-stop spamming borg cubes at me.
Dominion wars was legit, but can't get it to run on a win 7 or higher machine sadly.
It just won't even load.
Gotta give it to star trek armada 1 and 2 though, i still play 2 almost to this day.
It's fun adding ships to it from mod sites and changing stats around.
If you dug deep enough to how the game was set up you could even swap weapons around.
So i am hopeing it's more of armada than botf, or perhaps more closer to sins of a solar empire.
Borg up in your business from the start of the game spamming cubes is no bueno.
aah yes, I remember those days, I would always pump out as many Romulan scouts as I could afford and when i was playing as being hostile to all other main factions but not the minor races I would start harrasing the feds or cardies right from the get go, I would push towards them ASAP colonizing planets, building space stations and i would camp out as close tho them as i could and attack anything that moved with my cloaked scouts haha
You should try Star Trek Supremacy is you want a remake of BOTF - https://bitbucket.org/DiogoGomes/supremacy/src/master/
Its a community developed project that remakes the game.
