Starbases - Transporter pads - People and cargo
Hello all, just checking I understand this.

If I install a transporter at a starbase:
- a people pad will move my punters between planets and effectively make resettlement automatic
- a cargo pad will move stuff between planets so if I have a food deficit somewhere, intergalactic uber eats will have it covered?

Assuming the above is right, when happens if I don't install these transporter pads? How do the punters move planets and how do materials get shipped?

Cheers,

Resettlement is manual by default - you have to keep an eye on where unemployment is.

As far as I can see, the surplus and deficit of resources is combined across your planets so in theory, that's sorting itself out in the background... I'm not seeing a Cargo Pad (maybe I haven't unlocked it yet) but I can see Warp Collection Transporters, which improve a starbase's Collection Range... and I'm still unclear what difference that actually makes...

I think they are called relocation nodes or something like that in the starbases, I have not messed around with those yet.

Awesome thanks guys. I feel like there are so many mechanics they could explain a bit. I’ll keep plugging at it. 😃
