Congrats, you iz modder now. One of us, one of us, one of us...
(We all do that :D )
One of us! One of us!
Glad to be part of the ship, part of the crew lads! =P
And for anyone who happens across this thread and decides to give my mod a look please do leave your thoughts on it in the mod comments. I need to know if it absolutely wrecks klingon's ability to wage war on different difficulties!
Mods are ok to add things.... but if mod fix things that are horrible in the vanilla version it makes you dependent on that mod to enjoy the game. If it mod doesnt get updated or vanishes the game is broken.
Then Steam allowed us to disable comments, and updatepls kthx could be shut off, and trolls that had been blocked couldn't get around the block by starting discussion threads instead.
Whether a mod becomes someone's absolute must have to play a game, they cannot expect that to be continuously updated. Modders move on. And anyone suggesting that a game should thus not be moddable to begin with, that's arse-backwards logic at best.
The player decides whether a mod is a must have for the game, not the developers of the game. And when they no longer have that mod, they cope, or they stop playing the game. That's called having a life and letting one obsession go for the next. Capitalists call this process consumerism.
Exactly. Mods are a nice addon to your game. But if you DEPEND on that mod to have fun with the game. Then the game sucks.... sorry its the simple truth.
Well having "we have mod support" from the devs to be turned into "thats a bad thing" by some player, is really strange.
However i don´t think that are the people going to charity volunteers, those people are usually quite thankfull since they appreciate help in difficult situations.
Mostly its young, inexperience people who never had hardship in life, that are entitled/spoiled.
Frankly, if the same problems then start happening with Infinite, then eff it, no more mods. I'm not dealing with that again.
Mod support is great and everyone wants it. But if the modsupport (who arent payed) is the excuse for delivering a proper Star Trek game people have bought with their money...... then mod support becomes something negativ. And they didnt announce what THEY do. Only what modders could do now.
If Modders add up on top we are happy. But they need to deliver more Ships and more factionoriented gameplay. Right now the game feels like they only had federation in mind.
Not to mention that because the base game is so unfinished they have been patching it every few days.. fancy having to update and trouble shoot your mod twice a week? No thanks im guessing to be a the most common answer.
