St: Infinite vs Mod ST New Horizons
It seems to me that the mod, in addition to having great quality, is much more complete, since it includes the Gamma and Delta quadrants. Will it be worth buying this game?
Greetings.

Map-wise? You're totally right. ST:I will only feature a canonical start and a 500-odd star galaxy.

But does NH have the same amount of detail that this will supposedly have in terms of:
* New or sensible mechanics for Trek
* Events
* Lore
* Artwork
* Mission trees
* Hero ships
* Main cast

Ultimately, it will be better for some people and not better for other people. Can't please everyone.

I have a pretty modern gaming computer and ST: Horizon takes forever to load. It isn't a Stellaris problem because it boots up in minutes.

That is already one major issue that is starting to make ST: Horizon unplayable.

You also have the United Earth starting events that can ruin your game if you don't know the preset pattern to follow.

You have way too many buildings, technologies, etc. so that you are updating your ships every 20 seconds.

It is an awesome mode and when it use to not lag so much, I played it all of the time but It has flaws. I would be curious if ST: Infinite improves on it.
Ok, you have convinced me, I buy it.
Both have advantages and disadvantages

I will play the mod but also the new game as a Star Trek fan xD
In any case play ST: New Civilisations, is just better than NH buildings mess.

Both, why limit the good times?

No. You must choose or you will be sent to internet prison.

I think so. The addition of the mission tree, global tension mechanic, a neutral zone between major powers, true warp drive, fuel mechanic, hero ships (USS Enterprise NCC 1701 D), etc.

As much as I love the New Horizons mod, a mod cant beat a game that has new mechanics and components.

What Im looking forward to is seeing what the New Horizons team does with Star Trek Infinite. In fact I would like to donate to that team so they can develop their mod for the game.
Ah, to create a world where the Enterprise D doesn't get destroyed by a Klingon garbage scow working for President Eden.
Probably Star Trek Infinite - as it's been many years since I played Star Trek New Horizons. There were aspects of STNH that I liked and disliked. But everything that I have seen from STI has me impressed.
Could never get along with NH, it was a pop up simulator. Infinite will be much more refined, hopefully.

Yep, same experience. The other Star Trek mod is pretty fun too in other ways but both have felt the need to overcomplicate systems that really didn't need it, it's a little annoying when you just want to chill and play Star Trek in Stellaris, not a totally different game.

New Civilizations seems a little less complex from what I see but they broke the Federation. Federation is better the way it is setup in NH with the other factions systems joining you and only Homeworld being a vassal (although it turns your color).

I fear its only a dumbed down version of Stellaris with a STNG sticker placed on it. I hope I am wrong.

You say that like plenty of people don't want it along with things like focus trees and preset nations on a preset map. We might like Stellaris but the reality is that a game closer to HoI4 would be more popular. Its way ahead of Stellaris in player numbers, usually more than 4x iirc.
