Integration Failure
I am trying to integrate a minor faction. When I click on the start integration process, it appears to begin, but then shortly after I get a notification saying that integration failed. It does not give a reason. Any help?

Your relations can drop below the integration threshold for various reasons, that'll result in it failing. Good news is it shouldn't be too hard to start it again. Things like failing a mission for them, or taking their opponents side of things in certain events, or starting the integration when the threshold is borderline are things to watch out for. Check in with them during the process, if relations has a red down arrow, you probably need to sort it out doing another mission, gift or putting a further envoy with them on the regular 'improve relationship'.

It's kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the moment, if you mouse over the integration tab at the top of diplomacy it'll say -1 or something. Some species just won't integrate properly.

Yeah, this is what I'm experiencing. It's happening to a couple of factions. I'm one civic away from a diplomatic victory...

This isn't what is happening in my case. The relationship level doesn't change in the 3 or 4 ticks between starting the integration process and when I get the failure notification. I also have made sure my reputation level is well above the threshold, just to be sure.

I noticed if the Faction is outside warp logistics range OR is closed in by another faction (IE Behind or encircled by say the Klingons) that it will auto fail. But yea there is also a bug where your influence progress can just go poof as well.

I eventually found one or two civilizations that would integrate correctly and got a civic victory. Some just don't for whatever reason. And sometimes they integrate extraordinarily slowly but others do so really fast (Betazed for example). I think it was an attempt by the developers that it is supposed to take longer the higher your tech level is in comparison to them, but it doesn't give you much info. I just maintained good relations with the others and kept trying every so often - one time that worked.

Maybe someone declared war on the minor civlization? Integration requires the minor to be not at war.

Primarily Romulans suffer this. With feds it always works since the minor power comes willingly. The klingons take it over by force so no option here. THe romulans however have a FAIL here as its the most tricky variant to integrate a minor.

It happened once or twice with me. It is the relation level. It hasn't happened if I kept someone on Improve Relations or keep very positive relations

I failed a Federation intergration on Accarain Clans a couple of times. They also declined my coup attempt twice as Klingons, the third time I assigned all my representatives to improving relations with them during the coup's second phase and that pushed it into positive.

Well, I'm musing if after winning a Civic victory by intergrating (I think 11, so far) minor powers the game just went; NOPE, too many. Leave some for the other major powers.

I'll have to check if it's a warp logistical range issue or just the game with either a intergration cap...or a bug.

I was going to ask this question as well. Im playing Federation and gobbling up (assimilating) minor factions. I'm currently assimilating one and my monthly progress changed from 1.00 to -1.00. I'm trying to send gifts and do missions for them whenever available but so far the progress hasnt changed. I guess the progress bar will go to zero and I'll fail, will let you know if my efforts change that.

Its the stability of the minor that put you in the negatives. Look at the tooltip for the integration process in question. If the minor gets a stability drop that can hurt and even cancel the process.
