Starting Faction.

Trying to decide what faction to play first. I think I gatta go with the Federation. Then Klingons, Romulans and Cardassians.

I know its the order of some of the screenshots but I think Im going with this order. Maybe I should just go Klingons first. Romulans do seem cool. Im kinda mild on Cardassians tho.


Bonus Comment: I hope dlc has Ferengi. Borg sound aight I guess. But Ferengi is where its at. lol. Messing. 😂

Everyone has different tastes but I will probably try Federation first.

As for DLC expansions, I am banking on based on most Star Trek content that we will get Ferengi, Breen, and the Dominion next. Tholians, Gorn, plus Federation races like Andorians and Vulcans could also come.

I doubt the Borg are playable (and I wonder about Dominion as well) since both are a lot stronger than other factions and would not play well for game balance. They maybe game obstacles though.

As someone who played many hours as the Caradassians and Romulans in BotF, and the Romulans in ST Armada, my natural attraction would be to those two races. I like their ships and background.

However. I strongly suspect they will be least fleshed out races in the base game. Why? I suspect the devs will bank on the majority of players starting with the Federation. The UI most fits the Feds, the majority of screenshots and features they wish to show are Feds, all the previews so far are from a Fed perspective, the Deluxe version adds mainly starfleet extras. The Klingons will get voiceovers only if you get the deluxe version, which makes me suspect there will be no unique VO's or lore friendly sound interface effects for the other two races. I therefore suspect playing as the Cards or Roms will only be 'enhanced' later in a supplementary DLC, and I'd guess as an Obsidian Order and Tal-Shiar joint pack. So if I get the game early I'd probably play the Feds first, and then wait a bit to see what is to be added later.

Cardies are losers and Klingons are stinky, so either Romulans or Federation. Maybe leaning to Romulans if the Federation goes too much into TNG style "slap me harder please" diplomacy.
