Having a squad with unique items and inventories in games is fun at around 4 characters. Remembering all the loadouts for 7 people and upgrading it as they level up is work because you need to check and check again too much. Not to mention the hundreds of colonists which all impact your skill requirements for upgrades if you don't equip them with the best clothes........ why can't they equip themselves optimally?
