The update that just went live includes tips. Gunner is in the junkyard on the North side of the double bridges.

i found gunner but how do you complete the quest. i found him, " spoke to him" ...nothing. quest still shows it needs to be done. second quest, kill 10 zombies, shows its done but wont complete . how do i get it to register and move on? what am i missing?

Likely a bug with the quest in general, depending on when you acquired the quests. If you had the quests from before the update, you can try abandoning the quest and doing it again. Let me know.

Ah, yes, Abandoning the task and starting the task in gunners task tab did the trick.
