Co op?

How does the split screen co op work? Can I connect two controllers and play this with another person locally on the same tv screen?

It sounds like that's the case. I know that playing online is another story. For that you have to beat the tutorial and the first level before the game finally lets you invite friends online using avatar statues.

you will see them, they are in every level. just walk up on them and choose "change charackter" then on the left bottom side you see a prompt for the coop.
