quill boss
any tips on beating the elephant in quills chapter? this game in general has stupid unfair luck and the enemy seemingly being able to know whats in my hand (whenever i have the deal damage in an X in my hand they place units sporadically. and never playing the fill front row with 1/1 when i have the deal 1 to all enemies in hand) so ive yet to be able to beat it with the types of decks available for Quill.. especially not with no relics or in under 8 turns. any insight on what deck type you used and some not so obvious recommended cards?

The no relics accolades are way easier if you just come back to them later when you have unlocked more cards and have better decks. You can beat chapter 3 and then fight the elephant again with an endgame deck without relics.
At that part of the story I think golems are probably the best, but you should be able to beat it with most archetypes if you just use a decent deck with a full set of relics. I think the elephant guy is mostly about spamming small cards so yeah you want the AOE spells and maybe plunder minions to take advantage of the 1/1s, cram lots of them in the deck.
I don't know how much the AI plays around your cards but if it really is true that it's countering you, play more draw effects. If you have a bunch of AOEs and it's trying to play around the X shape AOE and the row AOEs at the same time, it will have almost no space to summon anything. If it really stumps you, go to the accessibility options and turn on the ability to see what's in the opponent's hand when you hover them, now you can play around what they have back.

I wanted to share I just managed to do both, right there. I did not advance any further into the chapter. I got the no-relics win pretty easily with a generic golem deck (no traps/glimmer cards at all).

For the 8 turns win... It was tough, but I finally got it with a redeemed +2/+2 golem from the 3drop, with double strike from a 1drop golem blueprint. I dealt 16 dmg with it in the last blow. You just need to play super aggro, focusing on two columns only. I think it's waaay better going second, also. With skeleton key, you can play both 1drop golems in the 1st turn and, if you are lucky, you will get the doublestrike blueprint.

You don't really need a +2/+2 golem, btw. The 7drop golem that merges into a golem when played would work perfectly. I failed a couple of attempts earlier because of the f*king crewmates spawning in the middle of the doublestriker golem. I even celebrated once, too early. :zote:
