Report a translation problem
It's an open ending because it doesn't give any indications about the outcome of the fight.
And yeah it kinda suck to not explain if the protagonists are dead, alive ... or whatever
And YES, that ending made me hate that game, even i liked it beforehead somehow. It's EXTREME dark humor was quite enjoyable until the end turned it for me.

I just wish that we can kill every important in the story with style instead of cutscene.
THat's what I thought. But J wants them to cook for him. So it does not make sense.
We only heard one gunshot I doubt he killed both of them in one single shot. Also the Chair he was sitting on was covered in blood and there was only one bloodtrail out of the room.
Basically the devs are telling you to learn to code and make a game with the ending you want. I am half joking but yea it's an open ending that they did try to foreshadow.
Forcing players to come up with their own canon ending is the textbook definition of lazy writing.
