How different are things now?
I just saw Switch Up's re-review of this game and it looks like a lot was improved regarding QoL and balancing, but do you guys think it's now less frustrating than before? I didn't quite get the ideia of the free DLC from that review though: Is it a separate quest or is it a new introduction to the original game? Is it separate from the main game? Should I play it first if I get the main game? I'm all for a challenging experience as long as it's rewarding, but most of the reviews seem to talk about frustrating factors and there are few recent reviews. Anyone's got a more recent take on it? I was really looking forward to playing this since I first heard about it, but I was a little put off after all the bad reviews. Thanks :)

about 2 dungeons in, personally Im liking it, i was just going to make a post with gripes I have with the game with stuff that could still be reasonable to fix, but yeah this is like, a very serviciable game, like 7.5/10 if i were to give it a score (and im not a big fan of scoring things).

And yes the new expansion is both separate from the main game and supposedly easier, it kinda looks like some sort of intended tutorial/prologue maybe? I havent gotten to it yet, but i feel like the game would work a lot better on a shorter package like i her that one is.

I see. If you don't mind, please share your opinion when you get there. :)

I'm curious too...I also watched that video, and I'm wondering if the PC version has been improved as well, or if the devs just worked on Switch's version or something.

this video tricked me into spending 20 bucks on a game that I'd still be angry about if it had cost just 8.

it's not fun. it's clunky as hell, the first two quests with the chicken and cabbage show you instantly you're in for a needlessly annoying time.
the ship dungeon is not fun, it's directionless and you'll walk in circles forever until you finally manage to get a damn sword and it at least becomes a little less annoying.
but then it will instantly hit you with a stupid box sliding puzzle that's also needlessly annoying because the perspective makes it harder to plan out than it needs to be.
also you're stuck in water where you still move stupidly slow.
the isometric perspective hurts this game so much, it's a design choice but it feels like it's main purpose is to allow for things to be obscured.

honestly, all the game has is that it looks mostly nice, but only as long as no one zooms into an npcs face.

That's too bad, man. I was kind of curious, but reading that I guess I'll just wait and see. Thanks for sharing.

In my experience, the game is so much better now! I play with the assist mode on, because I like things a little bit easier, but still chalenging. The gameplay has improved a lot. It is one of the best games I´ve ever played now. Thank you developers, who listened to the community.
I don't think I can post a Youtube link here, but that user has encountered the same bug as me on the Switch. I am not sure if the game on Steam encountered the same problem. Probably this is the only issue on the Switch.

The Youtube video title is Burners Underground Dungeon Cannot Progress Version 1.0.9

I defeated the orange spitting spiders. Next, the game showed maybe the boss room of that dungeon. After that cutscene, my game "hanged" with no minimap, user interface and Baldo in sight. The room animation like the fire still works.

I can still progress the game by closing the game and exit the room before the spiders room. Thank goodness for the autosave before encountering this bug! I can still go on other dungeons, but I can't get my shield fixed.
