You need to drop plants into Farm, same later on with creatures and Barn.
You need to sustain scientists to unlock the farm, but you cant sustain the scientists without the farm.
They just refuse to work when i cant feed them... which i cant bc they don't research the food chain tech.
The research right after the docking port called hydration gives you the required stuff.
Canteen where they take food.
Dinning stand where they eat food.
Hydrotonic which IS food, as weird as it sounds. This is crafted from just quartz and water in the hydro generator, and will sustain you well enough to set up a farm.
I feel like I live in alternate universe, because for the god's sake I cannot seem to have been able to get a wheat to multiply. I planted 4 wheat on a farm, irrigated and had a bot in it and got only 4 grains back. I lost the wheat. I restarted a new game and this time try to build more carefully, unlocking all the tech, getting slowly acquinted in this game. I haven't been struggling this much on any tech building game than this. Too bad if I need wheat to finish this game.
The first time I planted my wheat on a planetoid. Maybe I have to plant it on the station. I discovered that bots do not travel between planetoids and station. Conveyor belts are the only form of travel and I cannot align station to be able to connect the planetoid the other way than only via harpoon connectors.
I did not know you can cheat, any idea how to get more wheat by a cheat? This would make my game more playable I think.
I hope this helps Taija
That is odd. I found that wheat will spread like wildfire, so I had to keep tree farms separated from wheat farms, or the wheat would totally take over. Are you keeping the space the farmer bot can work with down to only what you're intending to plant? I probably give my farmer bots too much space to work with, but they end up filling it.
This!! If you build your farms correctly there is no end to the wheat growing. Constant stream of it.
