Is there a way to alternate between items when leaving a storage bin?
All hoppers should alternate through whatever items are eligible for exiting them. Instead it seems like they go in order. So if you have a hopper of some kind that has 1,000 wires in it and some glass, the glass might never exit because the wire accumulates faster than it can leave the storage, and the glass never gets selected to exit.

Yea... The only way to do this is either have a split bin (each bin storing each type and thus output needed)

OR use the multi port bin. (4 in, 8 out, or 8 in and 4 out - they are reversable which is nice)

If using a warehouse you want to use the Filter block in logistics to pull out what you want from a single output. This will just be one thing if there is a larger buffer over the other item. In that case you use two on different outputs then can merge them to make a it "alternate". However, I don't think there is any way other than advanced logic circuits to maybe change the filter item, if that is possible. Sometimes when I want to do a similar scenario I get lazy and do this manually.

Yea. I love the auto alternate when multiple belt feed into one :)

I just don't want to put warehouses everywhere. They seem like overkill. I think it would be simple enough to just have things default to alternating, and if you really want to get crazy, give them the option to alternate or not.

But in some cases I think there would still be an issue even with the base warehouse because of what would come before it. The biggest mess has been the tube/belt converter. If I send a lot of resources from the bottom level to the top with the tubes, and then sort and use them at the top, I'll end up with the converter only sending out one thing forever. Even if I put a warehouse before it, everything would get piled up in the converter and the problem would happen again.

I presume you want the storage bin to "alternate" output whatever it has in the inventory (if there are two, then alternate until it runs out, but it will always alternate if it is 2, 3, 10 different type of items?)

I think that might be "cool" but I think that is a lot of "pre-check" process before it spits out an item.

There is an issue with belt to tube transfers speeds. Each tier needs to be 1:1 speed. Currently the pro tube is faster than the expert belt and causes this buffer in the converter. I I have to split one tube into to converters to not cause a internal buffer.
