OR use the multi port bin. (4 in, 8 out, or 8 in and 4 out - they are reversable which is nice)

But in some cases I think there would still be an issue even with the base warehouse because of what would come before it. The biggest mess has been the tube/belt converter. If I send a lot of resources from the bottom level to the top with the tubes, and then sort and use them at the top, I'll end up with the converter only sending out one thing forever. Even if I put a warehouse before it, everything would get piled up in the converter and the problem would happen again.
I presume you want the storage bin to "alternate" output whatever it has in the inventory (if there are two, then alternate until it runs out, but it will always alternate if it is 2, 3, 10 different type of items?)
I think that might be "cool" but I think that is a lot of "pre-check" process before it spits out an item.
There is an issue with belt to tube transfers speeds. Each tier needs to be 1:1 speed. Currently the pro tube is faster than the expert belt and causes this buffer in the converter. I I have to split one tube into to converters to not cause a internal buffer.
