Best Way to Long Distance Transfer ?
Hi,
I am finding myself mining through planets and storing items in a warehouse near the dock. Now, let's say i want to use the stored carbon and my carbon processing facilities are on the other side of the platform, very far.

Using belts or tubes seems super ugly and is definitely going to lead to some massive spaghetti. Is this the only way ? Is there a cleaner way to move stuff over long distances ?
Robots seem to be a way but they are super slow and frankly seem rather useless for the most part.

Hi, trains are coming in the next major update.

For now, the fastest way is to use conveyor belts and transport tubes.

Gotcha, cool ! Yeah that makes a ton of sense.

As soon as I've docked a planetoid, I send over 500-1000 mining bots - depending on the size - which mine everything within (half) an hour. Then I dismantle the mining hubs and have all the resources automatically in my inventory. So it's not worth it for me to establish train routes.

What if you don't want these resources in your inventory but at a specific room in your base that requires, say carbon ? Trains can do the transfer at scale.

I'm thinking its a small train. Like kid train at the mall kinda small, but with some massive cars. Gotta see how they implement stations.

space train in tubes? heck yea, baby... bring it on!! :)

It would be cool to load/unload large bulk via train vs belt/tubes

I guess I need to figure out this miner thing. I'm placing the mines on the toids, but this sounds like I don't need to be doing that.

If ugliness is an issue, how about sinking it BELOW the floor level so that, while transfer is not as quick as you might want, at least it is hidden from view?

I find that the highest level tube is best because using the belt to tube station allows you a form of buffer.

This doesn't help speed as such, but having multiple lines might help?
