there is for sure a better way to do this, but for me this is simple enough and works since 50+ hours fine. i just show it with ice cubes because i deleted allready the coal power
well early game when you don't have the tech and also low gold it helps :)
Was much more reliable than using just splitters to fill up over time.
Have a play with them if you have them unlocked.
But solar power is deffo the way to go at the moment.
This is what I chose to do as well, but I just had the coal stop at the last generator. The belt stays filled and only uses coal when needed.
I found that by using splitters, all the coal gets crammed into all the generators. Once I opened the tech tree to advanced logic blocks, I switched to using an inventory sensor, decider and pusher to load the generators. This way I can keep the majority of my coal in my main storage to use for other things as well.

The inventory sensor linked to the generator monitoring for coal.

The sensor is connected to the decider which is used to enable/disable the pusher for the coal into the generator.

Finally, the generator with only 10 coal.
