Its used to make glass which is used to make conveyor tubes i like to use the tubes for virtical runs
I havent seen any quartz nodes? All i find are individual rocks.

Update: Man hit the mother load here. 6 tiles deep and still mining quartz - total so far 2500

That sir, is a brilliant and logical idea.
While this would be a nice add (if I didn't need my stone block for research that is still to be developed) it wouldn't change anything as there is no way to automate mining of stone blocks either. So hand mine or drill stone block just to wait for a crafting station to turn them into quartz. Or, hand mine or drill quartz directly, I drill for mine and have plenty after just a few targeted drilling setups.
