Future of Serum?

What is going on with the game? We are close to one year since release and there have been no major updates. There have been 5 small patches since launch. We still don't have co-op or the new biome as promised. The devs don't seem to communicate with the community and there definitely isn't any transparency. I saw this happen with too many indie games, and what eventually ends up happening is the devs just disappear, throw their hands up and walk away.

I was hoping for so much more from this game and it has just been overall disappointing. Truly a shame.

god am i glad to hear that, was really worried something had gone wrong or if your company had been shut down due to the lack of communication on both discord and on steam :c

very happy to hear you guys are still working on the game tho! its quite an amazing game and it would honestly be such a shame to see it not be able to reach its full potential and the vision you guys have for this gem of a game!

Glad to hear that. Haven't bought yet but will do when there's more progress on the game.

so i'm asking as someone who reached out to the studio directly about this is there any major delays/issues being worked on that you can shed just a tad bit of light on because i tried directly reaching out for comment on the whole situation

I was considering buying this early access, but after looking around I am not so sure. Nothing new in its discord updates since May of last year, and this area seems to echo the same thinking concerning the games future. I feel like this sale is little more than a money grab before complete abandonment.

really hoping this isnt the case, its such a cool concept of a game, even the world is quite interesting :c would be a shame for the game to be abandoned

Would you guys be able to provide an official status update? Even something like "here's what we're working on. We're still here and committed to Serum." It would go a long way with the community and would help us see that it's not abandoned.
I REALLY want Serum to be a great game! It's a cool concept and could be great with a few changes!

As much as I want to see this game get updated and finished... Toplitz devs are just weird in my opinion, dudes keep releasing new EA projects left and right with more new games announcement frequently... bro how many game developers working in this company, 1 million? I would love to see them focusing on finishing their current EA games first before releasing more and more EAs.

In this case, Toplitz is the publisher rather than developer. They work with Game Island, the developer, but don't actually develop anything about the game.

Then again, it's been 7 months since the last update and almost a year since Serum went into Early Access. It doesn't feel like Toplitz is holding Game Island accountable for the lack of communication and disrespecting the players.
