Really struggling with basic controls
This is my first Supercross game, and the only other Milestone game I've played has been Ride 4 (and a few minutes of MotoGP 2020). I find them all extremely difficult to play, but I want to get into this one.

Despite having a lengthy tutorial, the game doesn't really teach you how to play well. I'm unsure, for example, how often I should be using double stick moves (tilt both to turn quickly, push both down to do a jump)? It is far more intuitive to have the right stick shift rider weight, and I'm not even clear what the double stick does? Like, shift weight but tell the game you really mean it?

An issue I'm having is I'm trying to jump by pushing both sticks down, like the game told me to, but I quite regularly do a whip or scrub on accident. These are almost invariably an instant crash for me. Is there some way to avoid this?

Typically, I make sure all my setting aids are off and movement set to pro. That way it eliminates any computer bs which will happen if aids are on. I am using a ps4 controller, so I typically use the left stick for most turns and just flick the right stick into the turn on some. It is very touchy on doing it and you can really undercut a corner on accident some times. Tilting both back really just takes practice. You don't "need" to do it on most jumps though, it does slow you down jumping like that. But definitely make sure you lean appropriately when landing, it helps majorly with keeping the speed up when landing. Like try to make sure the back wheel hits first. It takes some practice to do it but it does help. I know in 4, you would flick back, then forward to get that kind of preload going, but it can throw you weird ways sometimes. I would recommend to getting used to playing with manual gearing too. It makes some stuff soooo much easier because the game isn't trying to force you to up or downshift when you don't want to ie. whoops.
