Projected final release?

I realise this might be the kind of question that annoys the developers, but is there a vague projected timeline for Episode 7 and the completion of the game? Are we talking ~2026? ~2029?

I ask because I loved Slay the Princess to bits, but I am very bad with EA games. I tend to lose passion for a game after finishing it, at least for a while, and if the game is incomplete, that means I'm left with an unsatisfying experience. Hence I'd rather look forward to the full version, which will be a guaranteed purchase from me on the strength of StP alone.

The only date we know of is that they want to get Ch. 5 out in 2025. Beyond that it would be just guessing. Sure they've learned a lot and are more efficient, but the chapters also get exponentially more complicated as they move on because each choice turns into several new choices and the sheer amount of different variables and choices they have to manage is kind of insane.

If you don't want to play until it's done probably best to waitlist, although if there's dozens of hours of content in the game atm if you like playing through differently and picking different options.

IIRC the current plan is to release Episode 5 sometime in 2025 and then release Episodes 6 and 7 at the same time in 2026. But "the current plan" has changed a lot over time (they originally wanted the whole thing finished by October 2023!), so I wouldn't take that as a promise.

However, they made enough money from Slay the Princess to fund the rest of Scarlet Hollow and are now working on it full-time, so while I'm not sure about the when I'm confident that bar some horrible tragedy it will be finished eventually.

I've heard so many good things about this, and especially after playing Slay the Princess, I can't wait to try it out.

Bought it in a bundle with STP, but I won't start it until the full game is released. I can't imagine having to wait years between episodes and wondering what happens next. It'll take as long as it takes, but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end.
